What's Up? | Clare Henney

First post of the new year!  I really don’t know where to start.  The first week back at work after the holidays went by pretty quick, I’m both grateful and sad at the same time: happy that the work week goes by fast but sad that it brings me closer and closer to my birthday.  I turn 35 this year, I can’t believe it!

I haven’t been able to blog here because I’ve been busy getting back into a good work groove.  Hopefully once I do that I can go back to regular programming where this blog is concerned.  I’m currently working on a 365 Photo Project — or should I say 366 since it is a leap year — on Posterous right now.  It’s so much easier to just post a photo than write (obviously) so my posts there are going to be more regular than this one.

There’s this other 366 blog that I’m working on that requires a little bit more writing that I’m working on as well.  It’s inspired by Pastor Jaeson Ma’s 365 Days of Love that he did a couple of years ago.  I followed him when he did that and I’m doing it this year (2nd time).  I know it’s not much, but maybe writing down little things, little acts of love that I did for others can inspire readers to do the same.  Imagine, if we ALL do one act of love a day, that would amount to so much love all over the world!  I think it’s a good idea and I just want to spread that around!

Another thing I’ve got going is my quest to lose weight.  I’ve been trying to motivate myself by following weight-loss stories (done through healthy eating and regular exercise) online, most of which I’ve been posting on one of my boards on Pinterest.  I know I say it every year, but I’m really hoping that this would be the year that I get my health back and make the most out of my life.  As a friend of mine said on Twitter, Conquer 2012!  I’m currently posting updates on how this “project” of mine is going on another blog on Posterous. Just weekly updates, nothing fancy.

I have so much planned for the year.  I’m hoping that I can really conquer this year and break out of my comfort zone to do everything.  I’m looking forward to getting my health back, seeing my friends more, attending my good friend’s wedding and traveling (keeping my fingers crossed on that one).  It’s the Year of the Dragon,  it’s MY year.  I’d better get out there and claim it!

What about you?  What are your plans for this year?  Care to share?
