What is a Different Word for “Blah?” | Clare

Late last year I wanted a Smart TV. I wanted a TV that I could watch online videos with but I also did not want to pay for what the top brands we offering because they were not in my budget.

I found a Hisense TV that offered the features of a Smart TV at a lesser cost than I expected. Gullible me, I bought it right away. Now I’m regretting my purchase because the high priced top brands are now offering more affordable (read: within my budget) TVs and this TV I have just isn’t cutting it.

The display quality is fine. Sound is fine. I can watch from my flash drive, play music, view photos. No problem.  I can view YouTube videos on it too BUT I can’t use it to watch from my other online video accounts because I cannot download the apps for it on the Opera OS that it has. Yes, it has Netflix, but for some reason I cannot log into it. So basically, I just bought it for YouTube. Blah.

I’ve been reading online that many who have bought a similar TV have been having the same complaints about it (mostly about Netflix, but I want my Hooq and iFlix too!). I tried contacting customer service with Netflix and while they did what they could to help (nicest CSR person I’ve chatted with so far in my lifetime), ultimately, I had to contact the manufacturer.

Eventually, when I did get in touch with Hisense Philippines, they weren’t of much help. Yes, the CSR person was very helpful but at the end of the exchange I was informed to take the TV for a software update to their service center, which is so far away. Or I could let them come over and I’d have to pay a fee (not for the update, but for the travel…or so they said). Being that this TV is only four months old, it makes me wonder why the software isn’t updated…or why considering technology these days their software cannot automatically update when the TV is connected to the internet.

My nephew is happy when he watches YouTube on my TV, but that’s about the only plus I have with it.

Blah.I should have waited and bought a Samsung TV. That was what I originally wanted anyway.
