The Dream Job | Clare
Are you already working? If yes, what do you do for a living? Is it your dream job or would you rather be doing something else?
I’ve been a college graduate since 1998. For the past 13 years I have been blessed with a means to make a living to support myself and help support my family. For the past decade that means has been as an Administrative Manager for a utility company. While the job has blessed me with the opportunity of a steady paycheck for the last ten years, if I had the chance to have my dream career, I would drop this current one in a heartbeat.
As grateful as I am for the job I have today, I would really love to do something else. Yes, this job pays the bills and it does have its benefits. I do the job that has been given to me well but in spite of that, this isn’t what I love to do. This isn’t what I dreamed of doing for the rest of my life.
What exactly do I dream of doing? I want to write. I want to be a writer. I want to write books, TV shows, movies. I want to write in my blog and make a living from it as well. I have so many ideas for dream novels, TV shows and movies and I have so many ideas for blog posts – none of which I can accomplish because my current job takes so much of my time (case in point: even when I am sick, I get called in at work and often actually have to go to work).
I wish I had the luxury of financial freedom and abundance so that I could quit my job and start writing. I would love to be like Meg Cabot and Cecilia Ahern with books that were adapted for the small and big screens respectively. I would love to travel and experience the world and share these experiences on my blog.
I would love to experience working from home as a writer. I would love to experience the peace of working at home instead of dealing with office politics and the formal corporate environment. I want a quiet life and time to really do what I want; to take my time with everything instead of always being in a rush.
I hope I can do that one day. Who knows, maybe I can do that someday soon. I wish!
