JC On My Mind – Clare
I had a dream recently that I was on stage singing, of all songs, Toni Basil’s cheer leading-inspired ditty Mickey. I was singing it with this group of people that I didn’t know in real life but apparently knew in my dream. One person was familiar though and at one point in the song, I gave this guy, who was playing the keyboards, the microphone so he could sing along with me. It was JC Chasez.
I’ve been a fan of JC since his days with ‘Nsync and I followed his solo career since they disbanded years ago. I’m still very disappointed that his solo career didn’t go as well as I hoped it would. I mean, this guy is an amazing vocalist and people can’t seem to notice that. But then again, most types of popular music lately has not been about vocal capability so who am I to say what would be hot or not right?
This guy is also an amazing songwriter and producer. I think one of his most recent work is a song for David Archuleta called Don’t Let Go. His first (and hopefully not his only) solo album has a lot of great songs and critics gave it good reviews, saying it had a very Prince feel to it — too bad this was during the Nipple-Gate time of Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson so nobody paid attention to that other vocalist from ‘Nsync.
I’m looking forward to more music from this guy. Too bad he’s been busy lately more on the acting and TV side of things as judge on America’s Best Dance Crew and in the upcoming movie Kerosene Cowboys with Twilight hottie Cam Gigandet.
I want new music from this guy! I really do!
