Clare Henney: Sundepil Hair Removal Pads
As I mentioned in a previous entry, I bought several items on Multiply, just to give the site a try. A few of the things I’ve bought were products that I’ve seen on Home TV Shopping channels. One of the items I bought was the Sundepil hair remover. I remember getting curious about this when I saw this on TV because it claims to remove body hair by just rubbing the product on your skin. I thought that was a bit unusual but since it was being sold at P50.00 a box, I decided to give it a shot.
When I first got the product, my first reaction was that the pad looked like sandpaper. I was skeptical but decided to try it on my legs. At first it didn’t do anything but after I rubbed it in a circular motion (which I only found out was the proper way via Google), the hair started to come off. It took a lot of scrubbing before I finished one side — definitely not as simple and easy as it was advertised. It works but considering that it took a lot of effort, I think I’d rather stick to other methods like shaving, depilatories and waxing.
My biggest mistake was trying it on my face and underarms. There is a smaller pad and that was what I used. Considering that I was not rubbing the product on my skin that hard (more like just wiping it over), I got scared when my skin started to redden, like I was actually scraping my skin. I had to stop using it right away. I will NEVER try that again. I later went online and discovered that the original product apparently does NOT put the “as seen on TV” logo on its box. Therefore, the product I got was fake. Oh well…guess that means I should do my research before shopping online again.
