Clare Henney: Ready to Smash It In!

I’m a bit of a memories collector. I like to keep things that hold good memories for me. It hasn’t been easy to do in the past few years because they tend to just stay hidden in envelopes that I never open and I eventually decide to throw out. Late last year I found out that there is such a thing as a Smash Book. You use it as a journal to keep your memories in by “smashing” (or to be more literal, sticking) them onto the Smash Book. You stick it in, decorate and get all crafty with it so that in the future, the memories you have do not just get collected but are also presented in a way that you would not throw them away anymore when you’ve accumulated too much (well, in my case anyway).

Early last year I took an art appreciation class online and our lecturer was big on making collages and crafts and I realized that what I learned from her are things that I can apply to filling up my Smash Book. I can’t wait to get started on this one!

Do any of you keep a journal similar to this? Any ideas or tips you can share? Please leave me a message so I can learn more about this!
