Clare Henney: November 2011
I went to visit my doctor a couple of days ago just to be sure that things were going fine with me in spite of my thyroid condition. I’ve been feeling weird these past few weeks and I thought it was better to be safe than sorry so I went in for a checkup. Thankfully, the consultation ended up with positive results. The nodules on my thyroid are shrinking as the doctor had hoped my medicine would do, which means I have no need for radioactive iodine, surgery or a much feared biopsy via fine needle aspiration (being scared of needles the FNA scares me more than the other two options). According to the doctor all the other things I’ve been feeling were due to my eating habits, particularly from taking too much coffee and going to bed right after a meal. Those things can be easily fixed with a change in lifestyle (although as a coffee addict, that would still be a bit of a challenge).
