Clare Henney: Let Go

I was having a bad week last week. To say that I was at the point of hyperventilation and crying myself to sleep would be an understatement. Yes, like everyone else I do have my low moments. At one point I just wanted to break down and go crazy. I’ve been on “suck it up” mode for so long that I didn’t know if I could take it any more. It was just at that moment when I heard this song on my iPod: The song is called Let Go by the band Abandon. It felt like God was speaking to me when I heard that. The lyrics say it all:
You could count the times that everybody’s hurt you
And build a wall so nobody can get through
But nothings gonna change if you keep doing the same things
You could shoulder all the weight and try to do it on your own

Or you could let go of all these things you hold
You could let go and watch your life unfold
You’re part of a grand design
Bigger than what you had in mind
But you’ll never know, you’ll never know
Until you let it go

So take a step back widen out the picture
And see the world through the eyes of the savior
Cause when we focus on ourselves there is nothing we can give
But when we lose it all we start to live
You got a front row seat but you’re never gonna see the show

Until you let go of all these things you hold
You gotta let go and watch your life unfold
You’re part of a grand design bigger than what you had in mind
But you’ll never know, you’ll never know
Until you let it go

You gotta let it go, oh let it go
Let go, let go, let it go

Thank you Ida for sharing this one with me. I’m grateful for because it made my bad week easier to bear. Much appreciated!
