Clare Henney: Happy Centennial DLSU!

100 years ago today, De La Salle College opened its doors and became the very first La Salle school in the Philippines. DLSU was the place where I was privileged to have my college education. So many fond memories from my youth were during my stay at La Salle. I have learned so much from that university both inside the classroom and out of it. I will always be proud that I have matured into the person that I am now because of the experiences and education that I gained during my college years.
So many activities will be held at DLSU Taft today in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the La Salle Brothers in the Philippines. I really wish I could be there and take part in it. It would have been a great opportunity to see what the university looks like today (I’ve heard how much the campus has changed but I haven’t seen it yet) and maybe see some friends who are going to be there to celebrate.
For DLSU alumni like me who cannot make it today, major events will be streamed online at the DLSU website. Other activities will also be aired on a later date and details of that will be posted on the DLSU Centennial site.
Something kept ringing in my head that reminded me of what today is so let me end this post with those two phrases that all DLSU alumni are familiar with:
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
Animo La Salle!
