Clare Henney: Flashpoint Finale

One of my favorite TV shows ended in 2012 but I only got to see the finale over the Christmas holiday. The cable channel that carries this show started a bit late so I only got to see it end in 2013. Better late than never! I’ve always been a fan of the show since the first time that I saw it. I think more than the action aspect, I found the characters very likable and you’re most likely a cold person if you don’t find yourself rooting for them every time they are on the job. It’s such a good cast and you get the sense that they are not just a family on set but off it as well.

It was so sad to see the show end but at the same time it was good that they got to end it in a way that most shows don’t. Getting cancelled means that shows usually give abrupt endings that don’t satisfy the viewers. With a show that ended because they simply felt it was time to do so, they gave viewers an ending to remember.

The finale had viewers see the entire team on the job on last time in a two-episode finale and are faced with possibility of losing each other because of it. I liked that they went big with their ending and didn’t settle for a simple storyline. I loved that they also ended it in a way that viewers got a sense of where their favorite characters go from there. I will really miss this show. I don’t know if there will be anything else like it.
