Clare Henney: Finally!
After waiting for so long, Korean rom-com series Lie to Me will finally be shown here in the Philippines! I’ve seen this show in its original Korean version (thank God for subtitles) and I’ve been interested on how it will sound with everything in Tagalog. I don’t know if the humor will still be there or if it will be lost in translation but I’m hoping it would still be good.
Lie to Me stars my favorite Korean actress Yoon Eun Hye, who starred in hit shows like Princess Hours (Goong), The Vineyard Man, Coffee Prince and My Fair Lady. She recently starred in a movie titled My Black Mini Dress. Fans who were so used to her being the androgynous Andie Go from Coffee Prince will be surprised with her klutzy and girly role in this one — which is also a far cry from her sophisticated, snobby role in her previous series My Fair Lady.
Her leading man, Kang Ji-Hwan is known for his roles in shows like Be Strong Geum Soon, Endless Love Summer Scent and Save the Last Dance for Me. I love this show because while it is a love story it is also a comedy, with situations that the characters are placed in providing the naturally funny moments. Lie to Me will air on GMA 7 starting June 18 as part of GMA’s Telebabad timeslot in the evening right after One True Love. I’m glad that it’s during the evening so I can catch it. I just hope it’s not too late in the evening for me to watch.
