Clare Henney: February 2013

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.

– Oprah Winfrey

Last Sunday I celebrated another year in my life.  My birthday “celebration” was nothing fancy: just me, my family and a good meal care of my younger sisters. It started the night before with drinks with my sisters as we watched Pitch Perfect and Part of Me (that Katy Perry movie from last year). It was good to have everyone together goofing off and laughing until I couldn’t breathe. I like it when my sisters and I are together like that. I can’t say that my life is perfect, but in spite of that there are still so many things to be grateful for now that I am another year older (and hopefully) wiser:

Family – This year marks my father’s third death anniversary. Even though he is gone, his memory will always stay with me and the rest of my family. I’m grateful that through all the challenges our family has gone through, we have managed to stick together and support each other in everything that we do. I love that.

Friends – I am grateful for the friends that I have in my life, especially that inner circle of friends who I have shared private details of my life with (yes, even with a blog, I don’t share everything). I’m thankful that I always have people to turn to for help, advice, support and company. I am thankful for the things I learn from all of them and the experiences I get to share with them.  My life would not be the same without these people in it.  I would go insane without my friends, I really would.
