One thing that I’ve been planning a lot of these days is something that is still two months to go: my birthday. I enjoyed celebrating my birthday last year when I cooked for the family that I decided that I’ll do it again this year.

While what I did last year was just a main course and some snacks, I decided to go all out this year and plan a full-course meal for the family: appetizer, soup, main course, side dish, dessert — the works! Being that I normally don’t cook (so far it’s been a once in a while thing), this is really something that would take a lot of planning. By a lot I do mean a LOT.

For one thing, I’m trying to make sure that the food I’ll prepare will be something that everyone will like and that they would all match well with each other PLUS be within my budget. I want to make this nice and fancy but something that won’t drive me crazy. After all, it is my birthday.
