Clare Henney: Brooke Shields on the Today Show

I was watching the Today show on Solar News Network and saw that Brooke Shields was their guest co-host. I loved the part where she was talking about New Year’s Eve party ideas with their guest (among other things). I’ve only seen her acting on TV and movies and never really saw who she was outside of the roles that she has played so getting to see that side of her was interesting.

To me, Brooke Shields will always be that young girl from the movie The Blue Lagoon, Brenda Starr, Wendy from Lipstick Jungle and that crazy bride wannabe from the movie The Bachelor (loved her in that one). For the younger ones out there who can’t relate, she was also Hannah Montana’s mom (kids are now going…”Ohhh!”). She seems to have grown old gracefully – none of that crazy plastic surgery (or at least, nothing too obvious if she has had any) that most people in Hollywood are doing to stay young longer. Unlike most child stars, Brooke has grown up not going off the deep end while still having a career in the entertainment industry. Guess it helps that she’s not only beautiful and talented, she’s smart too (she graduated from Princeton).

Obviously, I’m a fan. Not a crazy, obsessed fan that follows everything she does but I do like this girl. I’m glad that one of my childhood idols is still around and hasn’t disappointed me (yet, lol).
