Clare Henney: April 2009
One of my recent discoveries online is the website Alive Not Dead. It’s an online community for fans of the Asian Entertainment scene. Alive Not Dead is networking site where artists and other people in the entertainment industry in Asia along with other Asian artists who are based abroad can share their updates with their supporters. There are a lot of familiar names and faces in the site, although not all of them are as active in updating their pages as others.
Two of the people who actually post updates are my favorites: Taiwanese pop star/actor and former F4 member Van Ness Wu and TV host Oli Pettigrew. So far these two are the ones who keep me going back to the site to check if they have any updates.
I like the fact that you can view their pages even if you’re not a member of the network, so that eliminates the need to sign up, which is not very practical since I don’t know anyone on that network personally. I would like the site even more if they had more Asian celebrities there from Korea (they don’t have much on the site, but that could also be due to the language barrier) but unfortunately the only Korean actors there are the ones who are based in the US.
In case anyone out there is a fan of any particular Asian celebrity, you might want to look them up on this site because who knows? They just might have their own page (and blog) there.
