Clare Henney: After Ten Years
I started blogging in 2003. At the time I had no idea how and where to start so I looked around at other blogs to see what everyone else was doing. One of the people I started following at the time who still blogs to this day is Richie Z, aka The Pickiest Eater. I’ve followed him through his personal blog entries to his engagement, marriage, the birth of his uber cute daughter Rain and the evolution of his blog to what it is today. After ten years of knowing each other online, I FINALLY got the chance to meet Richie last month when I came to pick up the prize I won from his online blog contest for a Samsung Galaxy Mega. It was so amazing to finally meet him face to face after all this time I had to give him a hug! Hopefully that wasn’t the first and last time I will see him. We talked about me meeting his wife and daughter (and his mom, because there was a time when we were both F4 fans). Fingers crossed that will happen one day.
Like I mentioned earlier, I won a Samsung Galaxy Mega in an online contest on The Pickiest Eater’s blog. That phone was a blessing in disguise because I had recently damaged my Galaxy Note 2 (fell off my pocket while in a speeding tricycle) and I needed a replacement for it.
There are a lot of plus points with the new phone. It has a bigger screen, the OS seems much better than the one on the Note 2 (although I don’t understand why), it is a lighter (and thinner) phone and it is a dual SIM one. That aside, the Mega doesn’t have a notification light for when it is fully charged compared to my Note 2 and there is no stylus to go with it. I heard some people say that the technical specs of the Note 2 is better but I haven’t seen much of a difference in that aspect while using the phone. I’m still on the fence about which is the better phone but I am very happy with the Mega. The Note 2, for the meantime, will be set aside until I can have enough money to have it repaired. The screen was cracked when it fell and I may have had that fixed but there is still a lot of damage to the body that I need to get replaced. With a new phone I can use in the meantime I can finally make that happen (thank goodness there will be no need for me to buy a replacement phone). Thank you Richie for choosing my entries (I know I went overboard by doing IG, FB and Twitter and posting entries every day – I really wanted the phone, obviously). It gave me the excuse to finally meet you and have a new phone! Till we meet again!
