Clare Henney: A Feast for the Eyes

The Bench Underwear show has always been one of the most anticipated fashion events in the country. It doesn’t happen every year but when it does, you can always expect it to be a grand event. I have not seen the shows live but I do have the DVDs. I’m typically considered conservative but in spite of that I have nothing against this show. In fact, I actually enjoy watching it. Guys with have bodies to die for, girls who make me want to stop eating for months on end and underwear that ordinary people like me can only dream of looking good all put together in such a theatrical way that you can’t help but be entertained. The way everything is presented is so creative that sometimes you tend to forget that the models are practically naked except for the strips of cloth they have on (except when all they’re using to cover their private parts are their hands, that is).

Considering that this year is the 25th anniversary of Bench I am pretty sure that the underwear show will be even better. I heard that Alison Harvard from America’s Next Top Model will come back to be on the show (will Dominique be back too? I’m not so sure about that) and I can bet that all the big local stars on the Bench line-up will be there as well. It’s a two-night show (Sept. 13 and Sept. 14) and from what I’ve heard it’s the same show for both nights. I guess Bench is giving all their supporters the chance to watch the show since it is their anniversary.

I wish I could watch it but I’m sure I’ll be staying in for this one. I’ll just wait for the DVD again like I usually do every time there’s a show like this.
